Why Do You Want To Be An Artist?

Why do you want to be an artist?  The world is full of artists, or wannabe artists.  It is fun and creative.  But, why do you want to create, and what do you want to create?

For me, my creativity is my passion.  I can't draw, paint, or sculpt.  But I can take photos.  Yes, photography is art.  It is different then the other mediums I mentioned, but it is art.  I feel it is important to have a hobby, sport or some activity that is something you enjoy dabbling in.  We all need to get away from the grind of work, and I believe a fun hobby or whatever it is that creates positivism in our lives or for others can also create happiness in you.

What are you passionate about?  You may have a job, a career, a family to take care, but what is something in the art world that can drive you?  I believe that all of us can be artists.  Even people like me that can't draw.  We are born with tools in this life to show others our creative side.

Let's talk about photography for today.  Do you like to take photos?  What do you take photos of?  Do you enjoy the outdoors or the indoors?  Do you like people photos?  Yes, there are a LOT of portrait photographers out there, but there is always room for more!

Take a look at what you take the most photos of.  See where you're interests are.  For example, for me, I like nature and old buildings.  I have some examples of those.  I get away from my city and hopefully take some fantastic photos.
