Coffee Bear: A Unique Drinking Experience

The best views are always at the top, especially with warm drinks on hand on this crisp day!

Looking up, I saw a tall building with roof top seating, something I do not see often. Made of brick, something of the past, with people coming and going, surrounded by other aging buildings, this appealed to my senses. Something different always catches my eyes. Casually walking in, I scanned the menu before making that important decision: will they have what I am looking for? Or will we have to look elsewhere?

But I did see the magic words: hot chocolate.

Visiting the adventurous state of Colorado, we went to the delightful town of Silverton, in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. It was a chilly day and we wanted something warm and tasty in our bodies. This delightful town has many tourist shops, including restaurants and coffee shops.

Looking for coffee shops is something new for us as I am not a coffee drinker. How about you? Do you drink coffee? I feel like I am missing something when I do not go to coffee shops. Some of them are unique, with different offerings than your standard Starbucks. It might be the look, the drinks, the food or something else that an eccentric coffee shop can offer.

We decided to visit the Coffee Bear.

A slight industrial feel in this coffee shop, with eccentric features and a relaxed vibe.

As they were busy making our order, I looked around and noticed not only was this a historical building, but the inside had a rustic look, with industrial thrown in, plus a nice ambience surrounded it. I loved the guitar hanging on the wall - I wonder if they have musical nights with plenty of sounds from this acoustic guitar?

We took our drinks upstairs, on the rooftop and found stools to sit on, that overlooked the town. What a wonderful place to be! Our drinks were a bit hot, so I did some people watching, and of course enjoyed the nearby mountains.

That first sip put a warm feeling in my belly and a smile on my lips. A bit too warm for my tongue, but no worries as the drink was satisfying. The views were amazing and I was thankful to find this delightful place right in my backyard.
