Hiking the Baldwin Trail, Sedona, Arizona

Imagine yourself walking on a path filled with curvaceous trees, red and orange hues all around you, vibrant blue skies overhead giving you a skip in your walk. Sedona, Arizona has these dazzling colors, plus many more reasons to visit this busy, tourist town with its many opportunities. I have to admit I am a Sedona fanatic.  Every time I drive to Sedona, I have a sense of peace and rest; the rustic red rocks looking back at me as if to say, "Welcome back!"; the blue skies, nature beckoning for us to visit; and the various hiking trails to traverse on. Hiking the Baldwin Trail in Sedona, Arizona is a fun, family trail to explore and seek new adventure!

The Baldwin Trail is also where Red Rock Crossing is. Red Rock Crossing is a place for swimming and relaxing with your family. There might still be a cabin nearby: an old television show, Starman, that starred Robert Hays, was filmed there several years ago.

Driving to the Baldwin Trail has its diversity - both paved and dirt roads, but is simple even for a car. It is important to get there early as there is a small parking lot, plus there is a $5 fee for parking. The Baldwin trail is rated as easy and is a 2-mile loop hike. After you park, walk to the trailhead in a north direction.

Walking along the trail, take note of the harmony you hear: a bird singing a tenor, perhaps to its mate or a friend; water dribbling down the creek. Observe the branches swaying back and forth along the path.

The views become more spectacular as you ascend along the trail. Panoramic views await up above. This area is perfect for those photos you can send to loved ones and give them the drool factor over the vision laid out before you.
