How To Have Endurance

Running.  Sometimes we run for fun, or for a sport or a goal.  It can be a great way to get in shape, in toning our legs, getting rid of the fat. My son used to do cross country running when he was in high school.  He had to stay focused, enduring the pains and tiredness, till he got to the finish line, which was the final prize. We can look at endurance as the strength and the motivation to keep going and not quit.  You have to stay on your feet and keep on running, even when you just want to quit to capture that next breath. Life can be that way, too.  Sometimes we want to lie down, throw the covers over our heads and wait out those difficult times.

Jesus had said we will have troubles in this world.  He didn't say maybe, or probably. He said we will.  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)

He endured those incredibly hard times because he knew what the prize was: Our Salvation.

Jesus is into relationship building, not religious building. He seeks relationship with anyone who asks. He wants to sit with you as you read your Bible. He wants to be with you through your happy and sorrowful moments. He just wants to be with you, like a friend wants to be with you.

We get beaten down each day whether it is at home, work, school, friends, or social media. It is important to reflect on Jesus and think what He would do.  Through hard times is when we learn the most and become better people for it. It may take time, or a lot of learning lessons, but in the end it is all for the glory of God.

During the peaceful times in life, rest and rejoice in God.  Be thankful for what He had done in your life.  Run the good race in life. When the hard times come, and they will, endure that time by staying focused on Jesus. He will get you through it, although you may have to stay in those troubles for a time, Jesus will be with you until times of peace come again. Endure, be strengthened and stay motivated. God has a wonderful plan for your life if you will follow and keep the course.  Run to God!

What can you do today to endure the things you are going through right now?
