Is That As Easy As You Think?
After purchasing something, bringing it home and thinking to myself, I can put this together, no problem. Right? Many attempts later, frustration looming, ready to throw out the item that created so much emotion in me, I realize it was not as easy as I thought it would be to put together.
Can you relate?
I think some of us have an outlook on life that things are as easy as they think. I will agree that putting some things together, perhaps a child’s toy, could be easy, but putting together complex geometry problems, well count me out on that one!
Life is full of choices, full of dreams, full of hope that we could count on, think on in our every day lives. During this precious time we live in, there are countless things that are easily done, fixed, arranged together so that we hardly have to sweat it out.
Changing gears here, what about relationships? A relationship does take work, like spending your valuable time developing the relationship, being there despite your hectic life schedule so to nurture a relationship, sacrificing your time. Sometimes we get so caught up that we forget was not as easy than what we thought. It takes a lot of work!
But how about a relationship with Jesus? Do you think it would be easy or hard? I think the hard part is not being able to see him physically. We are tangible type of people, where we like to see the person to be friends with and with technology it is really easy today. But with Jesus, we cannot see him on our cell phones, computers, the television.
There is an easy part. All we have to do is open a Bible and start reading, especially the New Testament. He is all over the pages. There are countless, wonderful stories about Jesus and what he did for us. He would love to have a relationship with you and it is as easy as you think.
Just ask! Start talking to him as if he is in the same room as you. Imagine him sitting on a chair across from you, or a favorite place you like to relax in. Talk to him like he is a new friend, and share things with him about you, your successes and failures, your hopes and dreams. Ask him to be a part of your life, as that is his greatest desire for you. It is as easy as you think!
